Hello!

I have a pair of E145 drivers that I am running in my mocked up test system as the bottoms using an active crossover at 350hz. They are installed in a pair of old Cerwin-Vega cabs to just hear it all with the other components.

Everything I have read about the accuracy of these drivers agrees with what I hear. JBL has a standard cab design in the JBLPRO site using 4.0 cubic feet with 2 4"x6.5" ports. This design applies to several of their drivers.

If I put this cab design into BassBox Pro, Fb=35hz (ok I think), and F3=88hz. Run the curve and this looks dismal. Changing the box size and ports show no improvement in the curves. I am a relative newbie to the software but am using the supplied JBL T/S values.

So....ignore the software and build the JBL cab? I know the drivers will sound great and I am using a subwoofer for 20 to 50hz.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Other designs anyone has used?

Thanks!
