    JBL 2215A/ E-145 and 2235 recone kit

    Can I put 2235 recone kit in 2215A or E-145 frame

    can someone tell me how this will work

    No, because the depth of the voice coil are different. Right Rob?

    2235 = overhang + shallow cone
    E-145 = underhang + deep cone

    Like trying to fit a GM engine to a Honda transmission

    It's several things. Overhung vs underhung on the coil so different coil depths and widths, the basket depth because of the extension ring added to accomadate the deeper cone and the top plate thickness all make an E-145 frame unique.

    Exactly what I meant. In Paragon, with the LE15A (2215), I remember being told that it was impossible to make the voice coil to "jump out" of the gap. In my 2235's it is possible, but I don't want to be in the room at that point.
