    2235H original or not ?

    Hello

I can get a pair of 2235H but I've got a little doubt about them.
In the center there is no trace of the coil wires, I can see those 2 little black trace of glue in every JBL wooffers, but those one as no trace at all.
The outher gasket is brown, and I never saw a 2235 with brown gasket.

I join you a picture where you can see that there is no trace of the coil glue, and you can see that the gasket are brown.

Do you think that those speakers have been repair ?

    Thanx

You have a picture from the back?? Odd there are no coil wires unless the dome is oversized. All the recones I have 5 all have black foam gasket material.

The domes don't seem to be oversized.

I have some 2235h wit JBL cones. They do have a grey gasket, and the two coil wires. These are obviously recones. Check for white scripts on the back of the cones. There should be the codes for the 2235h kit.

Also the texture of the back of the cones is not correct. It should be smooth while you can observe a concentric circular texture.

By the way, the white "2235" script is not correct. Certainly not JBL style.

Strange indeed, if the dome is not oversized this suggests that the coil is less than 4" in diameter
To hide these lead wires the dome would need to be a lot wider.

Do you have a picture of the back of the speaker? not only the connectors?

Either this or the lead wires go directly to the voice coil from under the cone.... either way it's not right.

OK so they have been recone with aftermarket recone,,,,,too bad

In fact I've got a pair of L300, the wooffers are dead and the 2235 kit are not available. JBL says that they will remanufacture it someday................................

If you don't manage to find the actual C8R2235 kit, and are near Paris, you can contact HP Service at St Maur des fosses: they build recone kits from parts that are really close to the original (maybe better than JBL current production...).
Alternatively I have a ME150H pair for sale

    Hi Martin

    Here is my ad: http://www.audioheritage.org/vbullet...-Europe-ME150H

I am afraid the cost for shipping to China would be quite expensive though...
