Would a 077 driver be possible in 250ti's ? (please dont beat me for asking)

I was looking at some 077 drivers I have and thought how neat those would look in the 250ti's instead of the 044ti, so the question is....

Would it be possible? crossover wise, component match wise.

Could it sound better if the crossover were reworked properly?

Please be nice, I ask this only for the fun of discussion and hearing from those in the know.

I suppose I could hook the tweeter leads up to a 2405H and give it a listen, but that's about it.

It would add color that is not meant to be there. Just my 2 cents.
Well why not it's just one more pair...
4340's and 250ti's what an odd pair...

I remember someone contemplating using the "cats eye" driver (076?) along the same lines of thought. You would have to alter the xover since the 077 should not be used down to the cutoff the 044ti uses. Then you would driving the 104H about an octave higher, also.

Kinda of seems like you are dumbing down a honed and tuned system just to get a different visual? Not sure that would end well.

Wasnt thinking of actually doing it, this was just a waddaya think question for the sake of chat.

The 077 in a 250ti would probably end up a lot like a 4315, but since I have never heard a 4315, I dont know if that would be good or bad.

I love my 250ti's just the way they are, and dont plan on changing anything in them, but the 077 drivers would look neat in them.

    Question

This was actually done by to a pair of l250's a while ago. The person went with a 077 and also installed a 2420 horn. They were on eBay about two years ago.

The best way to put 077's in a 250Ti is with photoshop. The 077 is attractive and sounds great when used properly, but to design a network that would make it work as well in the 250Ti as the 044Ti does would be a lot of work and expense. It may not even be possible without substituting some of the other drivers.

Now that I've heard the 250Ti's I really can't imagine how to improve them significantly.

are you dissing my old raggedy a$$ pair ?

actually they can benefit from a dedicated sub...you can heard the difference...wish I had a B-460 ..but where to put it ?

and they like lots of power , the 375wpc from the BGW750D (with high slew rate) suits them well.

Quite the opposite. I think they are outstanding both visually and sonically. Truly a masterpiece.

You need a sub1500 then. Got all the shop tools and I'll help you build the cab if you can find one.

I'm a believer. That BGW is really impressive. I'm keeping my eyes open and would love to use one for the LF when I get around to biamping my XPL's.
