L100 123A-3 123A-1 Compatability Question

I have a set of L100's with 123A-1 woofers and one is blown so I bought a single 123A-3 off Ebay. Can I replace the one 123A-1 with the 123A-3 woofer? Is there a polarity issue? Does it hook-up the same at the 123A-1? I'm a newbie, any pointers are much obliged.

No problem replacing -1 with -3. The polarity of the -3 woofer is reverse of the -1. You should do alright with one of each, but you might want to consider getting a second -3 to match up better.

Thanks for the info since the polarity of the A-3 is reverse do i still hook the wires to the same spots as on the a-1?

They're not identical acoustically but close enough Just wire the 123A-3 with the + and - wires opposite to how the 123A-1 is wired. So red to red on 123A-1 would be the same wiring as red to black on 123A-3.

There seems to be some disagreement about the color of the wires. Are the wires going to the woofer green and black?

Ok the original 123a-1 has the green wire to the red and black to black.So on the new 123a-3 i go green to black and black to red?
