Making an 1400ND from an 1400Pro

For future reference some internal views of an 1400Pro / 1400ND
The 1400Pro and 1400ND baskets are the same. If you can get a 1400Pro (maybe defect) take it. A C8R1400ND recone kit is needed and these are not too expensive.

Ask your local reconer for assistance!

The 1400ND is an excellent underhung woofer used in K2-S9500 and K2M9500 and DMS1

    Here some details:
    VC gap depth: 25mm
    Field strength: 0.75 Tesla
    VC 1400Pro: 23mm
    VC 1400ND: 15mm

    1. and 2. pic basket front and rear (before cleaning )
    3. and 4. pic magnet and impedance control ring

    Hello, I build dms1 clone with :
1400pro (upper) and 2217h(lower) , 2332 horn and 2430h in SAME ENCLOSURE. Problem: tuning for 220 liters !!

    from EARL K (for 2217h)

-" Essentially, what "looks" good is a "Stagger Tuning", along the lines of what the M9500 uses .

    Top Box = 2.5 cu' ( 70.8 litres ) tuned to 50 hz with (2) 101.6 mm (4") ports that are 171.45 mm ( 6.75") deep/long .

    Bottom Box = 4.0 cu' ( 113.27 litres ) tuned to 40 hz with (2) 101.6 mm (4") ports that are 165.1 mm ( 6.5") deep/long ."

    What port to use ?
    thank you

No! It was discussed earlier. Do a search for 1400ND + 2217 and it should show up.

If you read this thread carefully you'll see that the 1400ND is an underhung woofer and has a completely different motor than a 2217H.

The 1400Pro and 1400ND Basket is unique.
Nevertheless it is possible to source 1400Pro drivers from time to time. That's what this thread is about.

But keep the little rubber ring for finishing, as the new kits from Mexico don't include it, I can vouch for that

Are the 1400ND kits still available?

I no longer see them in the Transducer Parts List.
