    McIntosh and JBL

Do you think McIntosh MC2600 will match with a 4345 ?

I see no reason why not.

I've listened to the MC-2600 powering lesser JBL Speakers, and while Ive never heard the 4345, I can imagine the glorious sound they put forth, the 4345 should be at the pinnacle of a match with this Amp.

This is an Amp I lusted after since its introduction, sure wish I had me one. I would pair it with my 4430 in a heartbeat!

McIntosh, and JBL IMO are a match made in heaven. Mark

As I understand it, the MC-2600 is conservatively rated at 600 WPC, and that most samples had actually put out about 750-775 WPC on the Bench.

Mc2300 with 4430s is a brilliant combination. I have been experimenting with several Mc2300s and large JBLS, and soon might have some 4435s to connect.

I have just bought the MC2600. And you are right. They are meant to be together. It performs better than my Chord SPM 1200C, when used with the 4345. More dynamic, better bass extension, more focus and fantastic imaging.

You're right on. JBLs sound better with Macs than any other source I've come across, although I've never talked myself into the exotics. The closest normally priced gear that I've found is the old mid-80s Luxman stuff, particularly the line of black pieces that included the R-117. Those things are absolutely the biggest bang for the buck that I've ever come across. Current setup in photo:

    JBL/McINTOSH... The leathal Weapon

I have recently bought a vintage MC-2600 in pristine condition...To supply my 4344 MkII
And I must admit that in my point of view JBL/McINTOSH is the perfect combo...

You really know how to torture a guy, don't you!?

I passed on an ebay auction about 6 years ago, a pristine MC-2600, original owner, with only a claimed 32 hours of use, and the auction ended at $3,000, or so. I'm still kicking myself on that one.

Here's my 2 cents: I recently acquired a McIntosh 2105 which I just got back from being serviced by a local tech. The McIntosh driver update was done per McIntosh tech support. Anyway, this amp sounds markedly different from my Nelson Pass designed Nak PA-7AII. I think the autoformers soften up the highs a little bit, and the low damping factor fattens up the bass. On some speakers this would not be a good thing, but on my SVA2100s with their slightly bright top end, ported enclosures and well controlled woofers, it's a perfect symbiosis. The Nak sounds better on my ADS L1530s btw.

I know this is a JBL forum, but I really can't think of any speaker that wouldn't sound good with a McIntosh
