Suggested purchase price for S38ii

I have had the good luck of having a pair of used JBL S38ii become locally available. The seller describes it as being in mint condition and is asking for 200$ for the pair. Is this a fair price?

I wouldn't pay that much for the II version. With current market prices on the lower end products, $200 is really pushing it for a pair of S38.

The last pair sold on eBay went for $225. So $200 is "fair" if you really want them. You could certainly spend $200 and get a lot less. It's the buyer who determines what something is worth, not the seller. If it's a smaller city, they'll probably sit there for a while so maybe he'll come down.

Ask if you can come listen to them, and take $150 cash to flash. FWIW, the E50 is another discontinued model that gets similar reviews. Pairs have recently sold on eBay for $100-125.
