Your opinion of the JBL 4355

My friend here in the UK has a pair of mint JBL 4355s but on long listening sessions I found the quite fatiguing compared to my 813Bs what is your opinion of these speakers? They were tri amped with the appropriate crossovers.

Well, I'm pretty fond of mine.
The imaging isn't to be bragged about, but fatiguing???

Maybe if they're played balls to the wall for an extended period.

Anyway there is kind of a mystique to big JBL monitors like Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
There are faster, prettier, more reliable brands but nothing screams "Kickass!" better than JBL.

You sure they were triamped?? They are set-up for biamp from the factory. If they were indeed triamped that means the original crossovers were not used or have been modified from stock.

That crossed my mind(which promptly let it go hoping to catch it later) also Rob. Maybe a level mismatch between the x-overs or amps?

    I really miss FarScape too.

You are right they are running with two Threshold amps it is some 15 years since they have been fired up.
