Help identify this subwoofer. 2242H ?

Hello, I am a noobie in need of some opinions. Any input is appreciated.

I have a JBL 4645B subwoofer. I assumed it was loaded with the 2242H subwoofer. I just removed the subwoofer out of curiosity and am stumped to what kind of woofer it is. It has no markings at all, except for one small sticker under the rubber boot around the magnet. It reads 14/06/01, I am assuming it was manufactured June 2001. The only thing that is similar is the three vents on the back of the magnet, also it looks to have a 4" VC. As far as specs, the 2242H weighs 29lbs. This one weighs ~20lbs. Here are some pics. I had a tough time finding pictures of the basket/magnet of the 2242H.

The alternating smooth/ribbed/smooth cone and the short fins on the frame suggests a Selenium WPU 1809, IMHO.

no, not really. When manufacturers build a complete cabinet with the driver, and possibly a network, they do use their drivers without the cosmetic touches. Things like the Rubber boot around the magnet, and a foilcal are on a JBL 2242H, but not a 2242HPL. And the absence of the cosmetic touches is the only difference between the H and HPL designations, so I am told.

I have JBL 2242HPL in my ported cabinets that were built for me By Widget, and I have a few that are the H designation, I don't hear differences between them.

The basket in the picture does not look like a 2242 to me. ????

Thanks for the input. The woofer I have does look very very similar to certain Selenium 18's.

Can you guys confirm this is indeed not a JBL woofer?

I forgot to mention that, NO the unmarked woofer is NOT a JBL 2242. It looks like a Selenium. Or other European woofer, as the European companies use that kind of frame. It is definitely NOT a JBL 2242.
