Power amplifier for Marantz 3300 preamp from the seventies? Please help!

    Hello everyone :-)

I came in looking for some help, since I have no clue on professional audio systems. I got a vintage Marantz 3300 preamp from a friend, and IŽd like to make it sound. IŽve been told IŽd need some power amplifyer and a pair of speakers for it. Which ones would be suitable and which ones would you recommend? How much should I spend? How should I connect them?.

IŽd be really grateful if someone could provide me with some info. My email is [email protected]

    Thanks a lot!

Your question is a little like, "I have an engine. Which car should I put it in?"

Any basic power amplifier will work with your preamp. A nice mate for it would be a Marantz Model 250.

As for speakers? A pair of vintage Altecs or JBLs might be your thing, but then again you might prefer some KEFs or some????
