Any use for this JBL 5234?

    Hi, Forum friends,

Long time ago I bought this JBL channel divider 5234 from ebay, thinking it might have some use for biamping of 4343. As a newbie in the biamping workd, I'm still not sure if this divider has any valid usefulness for the 4343 biamping. Based on the divider, its included cards are 800Hz and 5000 Hz cards, as you see in the pic. Do you think this dividing network crossover can be used for the biamping of 4343 or just a useless junkie? Thanks for your kind counsel and insight in advance.

    It's not for a 4343

JBL used a 52-5140 card tailored specifically for the 4343. I don't know exactly where it crosses over, but probably 250-290hz.

What you have looks pretty standard. 800hz is the most common crossover card as it is used to crossover to a 2" throat horn driver. 5khz is less common, but could be used for a 2402 tweeter. I'm guessing your crossover was used for sound reinforcement. It does you no good with 4343's, though.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for your useful tip. I wish I had been more informed before grabbing this one.
I have 5233 xover with 1200HZ as its included card, too. Is this also useless?

    It's useless to 4343's. 1200hz is a common crossover point to 1" exit horns (LE85/2420, 2425 etc).

Throw them on ebay and see what kind of crossover you can buy with the proceeds...
