Perhaps it's a 2 ohm speaker? I know that the 130F-6 is a 16 ohm speaker so maybe this is the case?

Tony Lowe took over the JBL MI department after I left, so I don't know what all the different add on stuff means. Try putting an ohm meter across the speaker terminals and see what the DC resistance is.
12 ohms would follow that convention, and likely make more sense for aPerhaps it's a 2 ohm speaker? I know that the 130F-6 is a 16 ohm speaker so maybe this is the case?
driver not intended for low-voltage/max-current operation (automobile).
