I recently picked up a pair of freshly-reconed 116H-1's, and I'm probably going to use them as midbasses in my Miata, to replace a pair of Peerless 850519's. Has anyone else used the 116H-1 in that role?

They seem well-suited for car use, with high Qts (I've not measured my two, but the specs here suggest it's well-suited for use as an I-B/leaky box midbass. Qts is high, Le is low, Fs isn't too low. (Though the high Qms also suggests that they may lack control in more leaky/I-B type environment.)

While everything is up in the air until I measure my actual drivers' T/S parameters and frequency response with FuzzMeasure Pro, and listen to them in free air to see if the suspension flops around too much when band-limited, I was thinking about using them much as I use the Peerless drivers: covering between ~80 and ~700 Hz, with a subwoofer in the passenger footwell and 2" wideband drivers (currently Peerless 830970's, though I may go back to the Aura Whispers I've used since ~2004, and that Linkwitz uses in his Pluto, when I open the doors up to install the 116H-1's.) playing above the midbasss' passband.

I've read here that it may have been JBL's T80 car woofer, though someone who owned T80's told me that they don't have the wet-look cone and they have push terminals instead of the quick disconnects (one male, one female) on the 116H-1. (The differences could be merely cosmetic, of course.)
