Any real significance to blue drivers?

Having just purchased a pair of 16 ohm S7 Apollos with blue drivers, I wonder what that significance is? I've seen a number of item on Ebay touted as "rare" blue finish....

The first versions of the LE series drivers were painted blue when introduced in 1959/60. I assume this was done to visually highlight their distinctiveness as the first new line of drivers from JBL since its inception. My guess is that the economy of having just one paint color for all drivers eventually won out and the LE series took on the same grey (and later black) color as their older counterparts after a couple of years.
