    Hi Gary,

    - The HF4000 driver used an alnico magnet that produced a flux density of 20,000 gauss .

    - Usable response is listed as 500 hz to 15,000 hz ( though I've never seen a published FR graph for the 4000 to verify this claim ) .

    - Throat diameter is listed as 1.9" ( 4.83 cm ) .

    - Voice coil diameter is 4 1/8" .

    - "Re" for the 8 ohm diaphragm is @ 5 ohms / with the "Re" for the 16 ohm diaphragm listed as @ 10 ohms .

    - Diaphragm is made from aluminum .

    - "Continuous" RMS power handling using an 800 hz ( 12 db per octave ) crossover is listed as 60 watts .

    - Driver weight is 28.5 lbs ( 12.92 Kg ) or 4 lbs heavier than the JBL 2441 .

    - The ferrite version of this driver was the 4080/4060 ( 8 or 16 ohms ) and weighed 34 lbs ( revised upwards, after 6/18/80 ) .

    - To the best of my knowledge, GPA in Oklahoma will still custom make diaphragms for these drivers .

    - The short answer is ; anything you can lay your hands on that has a 2" entry .

    - A longer answer is ; any horn that Gauss specifically recommended be lashed up to their drivers . They did have a pair meant for the HF4000 . Both of them NLA / excepting ( of course ) if you run across them on eBay .

    - ( One was a large diffraction horn like the JBL 2397 Smith Horn
    - the Gauss version was black fiberglass with somewhat rounded over lips, was called the 4140 & was 24" wide by 9" high by 15" deep ) .

    - Another was the 4075 . This was also made of black fiberglass , was a large 50V by 75H radial type .

    - Sorry , I don't have any pics of these two horns at the moment .

    <> cheers
