    Horns and distorsion

What about distorsion in horn drivers, if we versus for example
a 2446 with a regular high end dome..

The dome crossed to 3500hz with a 8" driver..

    The 2446 crossed 600hz to a 12" driver..

Is there lower distorsion in the JBL system?

Depends on the SPL. At I watt and 106dB on axis I would hazard to quess the horn would win. Curious to see which it really is. Figure compression drivers are running controlled break up modes up high so I would think it would increase with frequency. Then you have the distortion depending on the horn used. Have not seen data on what domes look like. If you look at the disotortion measurements in the 4425 4430/5 in both cases the cone driver runs about 1/2 the compression driver horn combo at 100db out. Interesting!
