I have resurrounded several drivers and know about the "classic" foam failure mode: the foam dries, becomes softer when touching, and finally fall apart.
On the contrary, is it possible that an old foam surround becomes stiffer than normal, and never fall apart, as lansalloy surrounds do?
I have a 2245 driver with a pretty stiff surround (stiffer than 128H or other drivers, but the foam roll is also thiner so that may count), and am wondering if it is normal or if it needs ressurround. I think it is 10 years old. The best option would be to check its FS, but I don't have the test equipement.

any suggestion welcome
