Smile Is there a category for Vintage?

New turns into Vintage then turns into, Antique or Rare?

So is that a fair way of putting it?

How many years does it take to classify audio gear to be Vintage?

    Lemme put it this way:

I'm now considered "Antique", and soon to be "Rare".

BTW, "new" also turns into "junk".

Okay then so are my plastic JBL control 5 vintage or junk or let’s be fair “rare”? Nah, they are still being produced so I guess they don’t fall into the category.

I hope a loudspeaker with plastic enclosure never gets labeled Vintage.

Ofc talking about normal plastic here. There are some pretty amazing composites on the market.

Cool Are we talking about wine or cheese....

Once something is out of OEM inventory, it is all vintage. Now vintage with resale or collectable value is another thing completely......

They are just "used" - Vintage has a certain class and style -
contemporary plastic boxed need not apply ...

Now, if they had a neat Art-Deco look or had been made with bakeolite ...?

    (but they weren't).
