has anyone used the StereoLab 400hz tractrix horn?

Hi All, I have JBL 4530 scoops with 2225 drivers, JBL 2441 CD drivers, and Heil tweeters. I am looking at using the StereoLab 400hz horn with the 2441s. Has anyone done that? What are you impressions? Cheers.

Exclamation Azurahorn AH425 Similar horn but not exactly....

OK, don't say I did not warn you, but there is a very wordy thread with some good info to be mined in it, that Lynn Olson, Earl Geddes, & others including the usual suspects... have posted.... but that being said YMMV

I have used, and still use, the StereoLab 400Hz tractrixhorns as part of my DIY setup. First I used them with 2441's and then later on until now, with 2450's. I haven't tried many other horns, only the JBL 2482, and I do prefer the tractrixs over them. I find them sounding very open and free from colouration. The only drawback for me is that the sweetspot is rather narrow and that in my setup the left to right imaging could be better. My experience with horns are some what limited and others on this forum who use tractrix-horns say they image very good, so my guess is that my crossovers (N333) that aren't modified for this horn/driver combo hold them back a little. How ever, they still sound very good to me.

    Good luck!
