Lee Michaels, 5th, 1971, AM USA, SP 4302

Something special: dominating keyboards plus drums.
Funky soul and a powerful voice.
Listen to "Do you know what i mean" B1 with hammond and harpsichord rhythm, a big hit for Lee Michaels in 1971.
    Catching...

Steve Miller Band, Children Of The Future, 1968, Capitol USA, SF 718

From San Francisco with love with good vibrations.
Heavy psychedelic soulbluesrock with Boz Scaggs.
    US reissue with good dynamics.
    No dull moment....

Steve Miller Band, Brave New World, 1969, Pathe Marconi France, C 062 80117

Listen to bass player Paul Ramon on "My dark hour" B4.
    Hey, it's Paul McCartney!
IMHO this album is massively overrated. Any thrilling song here? Mediocre French pressing.
Dynamics? Forget it! If Glyn Johns would know...

Steve Miller Band, Children Of The Future, 1968, Capitol USA, SKAO 2920

This is the original cover art that fits perfectly to this psychedelic fantasy gem.
    US reissue.

    Ufo, "1", 1970, Nova Germany, 6.21426 AS

Wah Wah pedal dominated space rock boogie jams. Listen to driving "Boogie" A2 and the beautiful hymn "Melinda" A5.
Back cover liner notes by Derek Abrahams: "They were young, probably not long out of school, and still experimenting with sound......., Mick Bolton 20, lead guitar....".
Phil Mogg and Andy Parker still are recording and issueing LP's as "Ufo" these days! Still young and experimenting with sound.

Ufo, "2" Flying, 1971, Nova Germany, 6.21438 AO

    One hour space rock.
One of the greatest psychedelic long players ever released.
One hour of music in 2 little grooves on one piece of black vinyl in very good pressing quality and dynamics. The rule is: 40 minutes are the maximum for acceptable sound quality. But here we have the exception of the rule...

Ufo, Live, 1972, Decca Germany, SLK 16769 P

Recorded live in Japan. Ufo was much apreciated in Germany and Japan in the early 70ies. England wasn't interested. A prophet is without honour in his own country...
The last album to feature Mick Bolton.
Listen to Paul Butterfield's "Loving cup" A3 with the space rock guitar solo.

    Ufo, Phenomenon, 1974, Chrysalis Germany, 6307 532

The green Chrysalis label with the red butterfly was a sure sign of innovation in rock music of the 70ies. Cover design by famous Hipgnosis.
Produced by Ten Years After's Leo Lyons. Recorded at Morgan Studios, London.
This was Michael Schenker's great debut. "Doctor Doctor" A3: German rock guitar firework.
Goodbye space rock, hello melodious hard rock.
