Gerry Mulligan's Jazz Combo, OST I Want To Live!, 1958, United Artists US, UAL 4006

Shelly Manne, dr. Art Farmer, tr. Bud Shank, as et.al.
60 years old vinyl. It has grown older without any relevant quality problems. Some scratches, noises and strange smell must be accepted.
All tracks composed by Johnny Mandel for the soundtrack of the motion picture "I want to live".
Also Barney Kessel is credited on front cover. Anybody able to hear him on one of these 6 wonderful tracks?
Let's turn this one and listen once again more carefully.

Jim Horn, Through The Eyes Of A Horn, 1972, Philips Holland, 6369 104

Some kind of a bastard. There's rock, jazz, easy listening, southern rock and soul music in this one.
What a bunch of musicians: Ron Tutt dr, Jerry Scheff b, Louis Shelton g, Al Casey g, Larry Knechtel kb, Jim Keltner dr, Jim Gordon dr, Carl Radle b, fat Horns and powerful harmony vocals.
Look at front cover art: Horn licks....
I like bastards because they are happy and enjoyable.

1986 direct metal cut. Very good dynamics indeed. Anybody able to hear the differences between the various issues?

Bach, Haydn, Mozart. Some roots. Replanted. Produced by Teo Macero. 26 June 1963 Kennedy visited the wall and the Brandenburger Tor in Berlin. He spoke these famous words: "Ick been oin Börliner". No chance for communism.

Elvin Jones, The Main Force, 1976, Vanguard UK, VSD 79372

Remembering a concert of Elvin Jones in University of Zürich in 1976 or 1977.
    Ryo Kawasaki, guitar.
Not remembering so many free-jazz tunes as there are on this one.

Blues played with a wink. Laid back style. Sometimes happy. Sometimes sad.

    That's life.
    Recommendation!
