Jelly, A True Story, 1977, Asylum US, 7E-1096

Jelly is the brainchild of actress Amy Madigan. What a powerful voice: listen to B1 "Dr. Jazz".
And what musicians' name dropping: Jim Gordon, Russ Kunkel, Chuck Rainey, Wilton Felder, Jai Winding, Lee Sklar, Jim Horn, Dennis Budimir, Jeff Porcaro, Chris Darrow!
So it's a sure thing this one......

Happy summer holiday to every fan of vinyl albums and to every visitor of this thread!
Same tracks on this Canadian Stiff/Epic pressing. Listen to the superb mixed bass guitar by Herbie Flowers (a McCartney clone). Which Höfner club guitar model (with the strange whammy bar) is shown on back cover?

What's the meaning of "crankable"? (Not found in dictionaries) Whimsical notion? Kinkable.....

it's probably not a real word, Fritz. It's based on crank - which might be shortened form of "crankshaft" - which was used to start an engine, "turn the crankshaft". So "crank it up" became a term for turning up the volume on the HiFi.

This Kinks Rhino pressing does very well when the volume is "cranked". :P

Vanilla Fudge, Renaissance, 1968, Atco USA, 503 042

The masterpiece of VF and a milestone of psychedelia poprock. The group's monument is shown on front cover art by Jim Visconti. A dedication to the saints of Liverpool is noted on back cover.
Listen to the fantastic ice-cold slow-down-version of Donovan's "Season of the witch".
Fine original US mono-stereo original pressing.
Anybody knows the technical charcteristics of mono-stereo?

Melanie, Madrugada, 1976, abc Germany, 89 610 ET

Notice on back cover: "Madrugada" is a special Portugese name for the time between midnight and dawn.
Anybody interested in listening to a lullabye-version of Jagger/Richards' "Wild horses"?
Hugh McCracken, guitars. Alan Schwartzberg, drums. These studio cracks had played on hundreds of albums.
