Deep Purple, Shades Of Deep Purple, 1968, Harvest England, SHSM 2016

Deep beautiful winter here in eastern part of Switzerland. So it's the right time for the wolves to howl.
Still a magical song after so many years: track A2 "Hush".
This one is a very good English 1987 reissue.
Listen to the organ of Jon Lord on all tracks, especially the jazzy parts in "Mandrake Root" track B1!
Who was the leading wolf of Deep Purple Mark 1, 2 and 3?
Beautiful alternative cover art with the rising sun and the rising Fender Stratocaster by Steve Newport EMI Design.

Once again, concerning "dedicated to ...and Ravel".
Did you check where the Bolero is on this LP?
Listen to track B4 "Hey Joe". Thanks to Maurice Ravel!

Adriano Celentano, Atmosfera, 1983, Clan Italy, CLN 20380

The italian voice and face of the 70ies. It's not the "Sound di verita" (track B1) because of too much synthesizer abuse.

Vern Gosdin, If you're gonna do me wrong (do it right), 1983, Compleat USA, CLP1-1004

    Problems?
With your musicians in the studio? No!
With your wife? No! She looks nice.
With your glass of wine you will not share with your wife?
Totally depressive kind of music. Not my piece of cake!

Dylan & The Dead, Same, 1989, CBS Holland, 463381 1

    Underrated.
Listen to track A2 "I want you" and A4 "Queen Jane approximately": still very beautiful songs after all these years.
Cover art by Rick Griffin. Skull and roses with mouth-harmonica. Great! I like it.

a 38cent pickup today. cleaned up well, playing nicely.

Recorded by Dave Palmer with Electric Lady Mobile Recording Unit and by Martin Birch with Rolling Stones Mobile Recording Unit (tracks A1,A2).
Track B2 was recorded with Revox "spare room unit" as noted on back cover: "On the beach". Listen to this funny junk.

Hoodoo Gurus, Mars Needs Guitars, 1985, Chrysalis UK, CHR 1520

Americana from Australia. Good English pressing with superb dynamics.
The title is a reference to the 1967 science fiction film "Mars needs women".
Don't look too far: In fact Australia needs more guitars like these.
Listen to track B1 "Hayride to hell".
    Funny and whimsical.
