Karen Carroll & Rudy Rotta, 1990, Ornament Germany, CH 7542

Blues with heart and soul. Superb dynamics. Steve Bell, blues harrp, is a son of legendary Carey Bell.
Superb Stratocaster guitar playing of Rudy Rotta.
    Original signatures on front cover.
I wish a beautiful sunday to everybody. Today we have one hour bonus because of European "Winterzeit"-change.

Ella Fitzgerald, Clap Hands Here Comes Charlie, 1961, Verve USA, V6-4053

1995 reissue. 180gr vinyl. Perfect dynamics. Clap hands and hats off to this superb US-pressing!
Looking at the front cover picture by Jean Dubuffet, 1948 "Tete d'une femme": "Good morning headache" instead of "Good morning heartache" (track B3).

Drug home 10 LP's yesterday, including some Fats Domino & Ray Charles made in Holland.
    Also this ==>> https://www.discogs.com/sell/release/2909713?ev=rb

which I found interesting because of an Electra logo that I'd not seen before.

From Holland? So it's clear: Holland was famous for fakes in records industry. So this logo seems to be self made. Or a bootleg.
Holland was witty then!! They had great rock music in the 60ies till 80ies. Not fakes, but interesting music: Focus, Ekseption, Herman Brood, Vitesse and not to forget: Golden Earring.

    Chico Hamilton, That's Jazz, 1976, WB Germany, 56 239

Superb guitar playing by Gabor Szabo (5 tracks recorded 1963 in San Francisco) and Dennis Budimir (3 tracks recorded 1959 in Los Angeles).
Listen to short track B2: "Island Blues" is a genial, old-timey, slightly tongue-in-cheek excursion into early blues ground (cit:Leonard Feather on inner fold cover).

Herb Ellis, Nothing But The Blues, 1957, Verve USA, MG V-8252

One for the island. Mono. 60 years old US vinyl. Plays very well though it's a little bit mishandled. It had to be played many many times, and that's OK.
    Superbly driving guitar playing.
Roy Eldridge, trumpet. Stan Getz, tenor sax. Ray Brown, bass. Stan Levey, drums.

Joe South, Introspect, 1968, Capitol EMI England, E-ST 108

"Games people play", track B1, was a big hit 1968 here in Switzerland. Anybody knows the name of the Coral electric sitar player?
Electric sitar and a good voice - good memories.......

And also on this one it's only "Crimson and Clover". But the 1975 Bellaphon pressing is superior. What a perfect sound.
