Paul Desmond, Pure Desmond, 1975, CTI USA, 6059 S1

Ed Bickert, guitar. Ron Carter, bass. Connie Kay, drums.
The master himself plays his sax very relaxed at Van Gelder Studios.
Good US pressing with fine dynamics.
    Highly recommended.

The Beatles, At Hollywood Bowl, 1977, Parlophone England, EMTV 4

Half a century has passed since The Beatles gave their final live concert at Candlestick Park, San Francisco, 29. August 1966.
    Underrated historical document.
This LP perfectly shows the non perfect sound of the Beatlesmania in USA. I like the girls' screaming. It was part of the Beatles' live sound. Hey, and that's great: listen to the nearly perfect live guitar playing of George Harrison. What great guitar player he was then!
Listen to Paul introducing the song "Ticket to ride" track A4 while shouting "Can you hear me?"
Still, we may hear Paul McCartney live today after these crazy 50 years........
Is there anybody who had the chance to visit a Beatles concert in the 60ies?

Fancy book with the photos of Dezo Hoffmann on 128 pages.
Anybody recognizes the girl between George and Ringo?

    Mediocre UK Kinney pressing.
Paul Kossoff contributing some fine Les Paul tunes though he was heavily abusing drugs at this time.
These musicians were searching for an own way......
