Kim Mitchell, Shakin' Like A Human Being, 1986, Atlantic US, 81664-1

Kim Mitchell is Max Webster. Anybody remembers this funny rock group?
    Forgotten, underrated and faded?
Listen to track A4 "Patio lanterns" with it's summer evening mood.
And by the way....... there's a voice to remember.

Diane Schuur, Deedles, 1984, GRP Switzerland/Germany, GRP 91010

Anybody knows the meaning of the word "Deedles" (for me from Switzerland)? Anybody will explain please?
But the meaning of this music is very clear to me. So listen to Billy Joel's " New York State Of Mind" track A2.
    Wonderful.
We may listen to Stan Getz, Steve Khan, et al.
Superb sound. What a marvelous voice.

Great stuff. I have several Sir Douglas LPs.

"Mendocino" always reminds me of another great song with that name in the title - by Kate and Anne McGarrigle.

Always assumed Deedles was a nickname. Ms. Schuur is from Seattle. I met her in the mid-80s just as she was becoming a recording artist. Prior to that time, as a blind person living on her own - she was living in subsidized housing in a very cool location - literally just above Seattle's Pike Place Market, just around the corner from the original Starbucks coffee shop. I was working on a job out of college - with a government agency which did visits in the subsidized housing. She was, of course, soon to move out of these apartments and subsidized housing.

Goddo Lighve, Best Seat In The House, 1981, Attic Canada, 2LAT 1107, 2LP

The best seat in the house has been burnt down during this live gig.
Guitar, bass and drums live. Powerrock trio.
Greg Godovitz lead vocals, lead guitar, bass guitar
Gino Scarpelli Lead guitar, bass, vocals
    Doug Inglis, drums, vocals
Which were the best power rock trios?
This one is full of energy and powerful vocals.

Boxcar Willie, The Collection, 1987, Castle Communications Germany, CCSLP 159, 2LP

This is not the world i'm living in that he sings about. It's only country music but i like it........
Because it's funny, happy, melodious, rhythmic. Very positiv mood.
And hey, he is a good singer. I also like the fiddles, because i played the violin in my youth for 10 years and had to play all that classic songs by Beethoven, Vivaldi and Bach.
I didn't know then, that there is also a place for the violin in country music.

    8 track cartridges

Remembering those 8 track cartridges which were used in cars in the 70ies. I didn't have a car then, so i don't have any of these ugly things. In thriftstores they can still be seen today. It's part of music history from the funny disco times.
They were invented by William P. Lear. Anybody knows? He developped the famous Lear Jets: these had very big sound!!!!
P.S.: Do you have any equipment left for listening to these 8 track cartridges? Do you have an old rusty car from the seventies left in your garden for listening to 8 track cartridges?
    Funny idea, isn't it?
