Various Artists, The Sue Story!, 1983, Line Germany, 2LP, OLDLP 8022

Reissue of the 1967 "The Sue Story".
This is the world of producer Guy Stevens.
1983 german Line reissue on 2Lps with very disappointing poor dynamics.
Listen to track B1 Wilbert Harrisons "Let's stick together" and remember the wonderful version played by Canned Heat as "Let's work together".
So here we have many roots.....
This is very important english soul music history. So the liner notes were witten by Keith Reid (Procol Harum) and Guy Stevens.
We meet them here again: Hapshash and the coloured coat featuring the human host 1967......

Captain Beefheart And The Magic Band - Unconditionally Guaranteed
    (1974, Mercury)

this record does sound more commercial than other Beefheart and like a collection of one-offs but still it's incredibly interesting with great sound quality.

IMHO some kind of an audio museum!
This one is an important milestone of the music in the 20th century!

Chilliwack, Lights From The Valley, 1978, Mushroom US, MRS 5011

This seventh one of Chilliwack was underpromoted due to the financial problems of Mushroom Records.
It was recorded twice as the label rejected the original version as insufficiently commercial.
Strange politics: a tragedy for these gifted musicians!
Listen to the driving track B3 "She keeps on crying".
Great melodious softrock songs in the style of the first Eagles albums. Wonderful harmony vocals.
    IMHO a forgotten gem.......

Thanks. Lots of luck finding great jazz and rock records in the wild here in the last 10 years or so.

I was reminded that is Nico on the cover of Moonbeams.

Mary Black - By The Time It Gets Dark
    (1987, Dara)

there are a few gems here, mixed in with less interesting contemporary songs. Worth the $1 just for her beautiful cover of Richard Thompson's wonderful song - Farewell, Farewell.
