have been wanting to hear Might As Well all day. Purchased new in 1976, I think it might be my favorite of his solo LPs.

Rudie, Rockin' Kangaroo, 1980, Vertigo Germany, 6360 643

Rudie was "Rudolf Rock und die Schockers", the german "Sha Na Na". Na ja....too much Smokie, Mud, Rubettes and Sailor tunes.
Dicky Tarrach drums (ex Rattles/Randy Pie/Moti Special).
In the 80ies the Vertigo label had become more and more commercial. It had lost it's 70ies magic.
Saturday night music for rock'n'roll fans.

    Charlie, Lines, 1978, Polydor Germany, 2383 487

The late 70ies were "difficult" times in rock music and LP cover art. IMHO the rock tunes had become more and more too commercial.
This one with Steve Gadd at the drums (not the american session drummer!) was at the edge from the point of today's view.
The woman on front cover with the drinking straw in her hand seems to wait for better input too.......

Charlie, Here Comes Trouble, 1982, Polydor UK, POLS 1053

Concerning the woman on the cover of my last post: trouble had to come soon. Rock music got deeper and deeper into trouble.
So there was no more money left for acceptable LP cover art: on cover back side there is the same picture as on front cover.......
And the boring synthesizers began to spoil rock music more and more........

Charlie, Fantasy Girls, 1976, Columbia US, PC 34081

Debut album. Rare one. Beautiful cult cover art. Superb guitar driven rock in the style of Boston et al of those years. No lines- no trouble coming?

Charlie, No Second Chance, 1976, Polydor England, 2383 422

They had their second chance! Underrated. Beautiful dramatic cover artwork (look at the back side). Many fine songs. Superb guitar work and vocal harmonies in the style of Barclay James Harvest. Listen to track B4 "Guitar hero". Great.

Once again. Every week this summer.
Great. Perfectly bringing back the early seventies (my youth time).
    Summertime as we like it.
Hats off to Shrieve, Rolie, Schon, Carabello and Carlos Santana!
