Thriftstore find for 3 SFr. last week. Filthy vinyl had to be washed first. I found this one in a childrens fairy tale LP bin.
Steve Cropper, Duck Dunn, Al Jackson, Jim Keltner, Carl Radle, J.J. Cale!
Listen to track A5 "My father's shoes": a song full of beauty and dignity. Anybody remembers those mellow Mellotron sounds?
Thanks to the children. Thanks to the fairy tales.

Listen to track A1 "Man full of yesterdays":
"He wanted to go to the sun, he wanted to swim in the rain,
He waisted his time, drinking whisky and wine,
But now he's come back again."
The great unforgettable voice of Uriah Heep. A victim of success. A victim of whisky and wine.
Lou Stonebridge keyboards, Mick Box, Lee Kerslake, Denny Ball bass, John Wetton mellotron, Ken Hensley accoustic guitar on track B5.
Heep fans will like this forgotten gem.

Chick Corea / Dave Holland / Barry Altschul - A.R.C.
(1977, ECM) MASTERDISK in the deadwax
recorded in 1971. Great sound quality, free jazz from these great players
Fosgate Signature Tube Phono Pre/Rega P9/Benz Wood/McIntosh MC 2205/JBL 4430
Donovan - Essence To Essence
(1974, Epic) WLP, STERLING RL in the deadwax, mastered by Robert Ludwig
a fun thrift find in the last few weeks. Donovan music holds up pretty well for me all these years later. Operating Manual For Spaceship Earth is a hoot.

Ray LaMontagne - Ouroboros
(2015, RCA)
just arrived this afternoon from Amazon. It was just over $10 when I ordered on Thurs - looks like the LP is up to $14 now, still a great deal. Great artwork and packaging on this gatefold LP, and killer music, epic songs, good sound quality and the vinyl is playing perfect so far.

Of course it's art and just a question of personal taste. I like the solos and the interplay. The ability to pick out individual instruments from the music, played improvisationally by world class musicians. Chick Corea, Piano Dave Holland, bass = absorbing, mesmerizing.

Terje Rypdal - Whenever I Seem To Be Far Away
(1974, ECM)
intense

John Abercrombie, Dave Holland, Jack DeJohnette - Gateway
(1975, ECM) STERLING in the deadwax
another great title from a recent crazy ECM estate sale collection pickup. and more hypnotic Dave Holland bass

De-Phazz is the abbreviation of "Destination Phuture Jazz". Witty Acid Jazz from Heidelberg, Germany.
Listen to the beautiful cool voice of Pat Appleton on track A1 "The Mambo Craze".
Superb dynamics on this german pressing. Listen loud and test your loudspeakers!
As noticed on cover there are many "Mole listening pearls".
Some kind of modern free jazz?

Some kind of narcissistic person? 16 Donovans on label and covers, but no further musicians credits.
Still on the road this summer 2016 in UK and USA with his green acoustic guitar. Is it a Gibson? Anybody knows?
This one was produced by Andrew Oldham.
Are there any musicians credits on your issue? As i see at wikipedia, there were many famous musicians involved as Nicky Hopkins, Carole King, Henry McCullogh, Danny Kortchmar, Peter Frampton et al.

Weak vocals by Richard Sinclair. Nobody wanted to hear/buy this one in the 80ies. But it has it's fascinating moments. As life is.
So it's a little gem. Listen to the sax solos of Mel Collins, especially on track A2 "Hold on".
