That's disappointing to hear because Ben Sidran is interesting, coming from his association with the Steve Miller Band in the 60s. I have a copy of this record, have avoided playing it for a few years because I suspected it was a bit too smooth and synth'd.

Mick Abrahams Band, At Last, 1972, Chrysalis Germany, 6307 505

Mick Abrahams original guitarist in Jethro Tull and Ex-Bloodwyn Pig. Ritchie Dharma drums g. Remember "Dharma for one" on Jethro Tull's 1968 "This was".
Jack Lancaster (great!!!) horns. Listen to every track, but especially to B2 "Maybe because" maybe because of the powerful horns by Lancaster.
    Good German pressing.
The green Chrysalis label is cult here in Germany and Switzerland.
P.S.: we cannot find this one for 1 Dollar, 1Euro, 1SFr or any current: track B4 "You'll never get it".

Mick Abrahams, Same, 1971, Chrysalis England, ILPS 9147

Fantastic hammond playing by Bob Sergeant. Produced by Chris Thomas.
Ritchie Dharma's drumming is dizzying in it's speed and complexity (cit: Bruce Eder AMG).
Notice the powerful vocals. No fillers all winners. One for the exile on the island.

Willy DeVille, Miracle, 1987, Polydor West Germany, 887 063-1, Maxisingle

Remembering a fantastic night in Bellinzona, Switzerland, June 28, 2003. Salomon Burke and Willy DeVille live at Piazza Blues.
This one is a 45rpm maxisingle with a miraculous sound. Listen loud. Willy's voice was a miracle.

Armageddon mix. Produced by John Paul Jones.
Mighty sound of a 45rpm maxisingle. Test your equipment with track B1 "For ever more".

Ben Sidran, Black Talk, 1985, Wolke Verlag, Germany

Yes, he is Dr. phil. of Amerikanistik und Soziologie. This book "Black Talk", is about "Schwarze Musik", die andere Kultur in Amerika.
Introduction by Archie Shepp. 51 Fotos in black&white by Val Wilmer. 232 pages. Interesting while listening to his LPs.
Writing scientific books is very hard. Now i know why he sleeps on back cover picture of "The Doctor is in"!!
