Steeleye Span - That's Steeleye Span
    (1982, Marifon/Chrysalis) German pressing

A $1 find at a university district yard sale a couple of summers ago. I grabbed several nice Steeleye records from the box & the 30 something gal running the sale was a fan. She was transitioned to digital, no longer spinning records. It was fun telling her about seeing the band just a couple of miles from the location at the University of Washington many years earlier.

Yes, to eagles and groundhogs, aka Marmots.

and also a real life monster --> Ursus Horribilis (Grizzly Bear) still roam in the North Cascades - I've seen the more common Black bear in the wild but thankfully have not yet encountered a Grizzly. Thinking about these creatures have resulted in many near sleepless nights while camping in a tent. They were nearly extinct in the continental US but small populations are growing in Washington and Montana.

Yesterday we did see a yearling deer crossing the logging road as we were driving out. At this lake, years ago I saw a Bobcat/Lynx - a rare sighting according to a ranger because they are nocturnal.

After so many years of having eaten too many burritos they wanted to change their name to SIERRA.
    Produced by Felix Pappalardi!
This happened nearly 40 years ago. Did you know?

The Doors, The Best Of, 2000, Warner Elektra EU, 62558-1, 3 LP, 180gr Vinyl

3LPs. Plus the fourth bonus 180gr vinyl 12": on this one we may enjoy (?) 7 different versions and mixes of "Riders on the storm":
1.) Original mix. 2.) Revival mix. 3.) Ibizzare remix. 4.) N.O.W. sofa mix. 5.) PNAU club mix. 6.) Baez & Cornell radio mix. 7.) Baez & Cornell club mix.
    Thunderous sound! What else?

My favourite version is the original version!

Facts, Switzerland, 27/2001, Interwiev with Ray Manzarek

In this Swiss weekly journal "Facts" 2001 interview, Ray Manzarek said: "Our music represents the spirit of freedom. And this is immortal."
P.S. "Facts" wasn't immortal. Since many years this journal is dead......

    Dave Mason - Scrapbook
(1972, Island) UK pressing, PORKY/PECKO in the deadwax

a nice find at one of my locals earlier this week. Listening to record 1, which should be credited to Traffic. Great sound quality. Great sonics on You Can All Join In.

Too bad the art department at Island Records decided to phone it in for the artwork on this record.

Katy Moffatt, Walking On The Moon, 1988, Red Moon Switzerland, 88035

This one is dedicated to the "amps tube guru" of Buchs, Switzerland, in the beautiful Rheintal, Bruno Candreia. He is a real master and expert of repairing and restoration of those old tube amps that we all love so much.
Recorded in company with Andrew Hardin May 31st and June 1st 1988 at Tonspurstudio AG, Buchs, Switzerland.
Great voice. Listen to track A6 VanZant/Rossington's "Mr. Banker": the recording studio doesn't exist anymore. Because of the bankers?
    Anybody knows?
The CD shown on 1st picture is the US production on Philo Rounder Records.

What is the translation of "phone it in...."? Can not understand what's the problem with the artwork.

Pete Brown & Piblokto, My Last Band, 1977, Harvest UK, SHSM 2017

A little bit of rock music history. Remember "Sunshine of your love" and "I feel free".
This is a compilation of songs recorded 1968-1970.
Working with Cream, Pete refined a writing talent conceived under the influence of the American beat poets like Ginsberg, Corso and Ferlinghetti, and nurtured in the heady athmosphere of London in the early sixties. Since those early days with Graham Bond, Jack Bruce, Dick Heckstall-Smith and Ginger Baker, Pete has written in the closest of collaborations with musicians (cit: liner notes on back cover).
Listen to Chris Spedding's guitar and violin work on mono track A4 " The week looked good on paper".
Fine english pressing on famous progressive Harvest Label.

"Perform an act in a perfunctory, uncommitted fashion, as if it didn't matter." I think the phrase originated as a reference to someone using a phone call to deliver their work rather than going into the office.
