    Fairport Convention - s/t
    (1968, Polydor) UK pressing, '75 reissue Polydor #2384 047

part of a series of UK Polydor reissues in the mid 70s - austere cover art but all I've heard in the series have nice sound quality.

Fritz - wow, those are some older posts that you've found. I hope to have time today or tomorrow to check these out.

RIP Keith Emerson. My favorite ELP title. Crushing sound quality on this pressing.

    ELP, Black Moon, 1992, Victory D, 828 318-1

Black Moon. Referring to the burning Iraqi oil fields of Gulf Storm. Look at the beautiful but also scary carrousel on front cover picture. You may see the dollar notes whirling around.......

John Fogerty, Revival, 2007, Fantasy US, FLP-30523

Underrated guitar player and unique voice. Listen to track A3 "Creedence Song": "Hey you can't go wrong if you play a little bit of that Creedence song". Good US pressing.

David Gilmour, About Face, 1984, Harvest F, 2400791

70 years of David Gilmour. Efficient guitar playing. Listen to the solo on track B5 "Near the end". Superb production by Bob Ezrin. With many friends: Pete Townsend, Jeff Porcaro, Pino Palladino, Steve Winwood, Jon Lord, Kick Horns. All winners no fillers. Fine french pressing on cult label Harvest.

    Climax Blues Band, FM Live, 1974, Polydor D, 2LP, 2478 069

Listen to Jimmy Reed song on track D1 "Goin' to New York". Recorded live at the Academy of Music, New York. Broadcast live on WNEW-FM, New York. Superb german pressing. Pete Haycock guitar masterwork. 40 year old vinyl. What about your car you drove in 1974? "If you were looking for a band with substantial blues roots, technically excellent playing both individually and collectively, and a live excitement that grabs and never lets go, you couldn't do much better than the Climax Blues Band." (cit. Rolling Stone review, Gordon Fletcher, RS 158)

    East Of Eden, Jig-A Jig, 1971, Deram D, 6.21679

Jig-a-Jig. Better git it in your soul (Mingus). A very rich (german: reichhaltiges) album. This is the sound of the seventies as we will always love it.
    Superb german pressing.

Riff Raff, Vinyl Futures, 1981, ATCO US, SD 32-108

After Led Zeppelin, there was nothing..... but Riff Raff. Sleeve by Hipgnosis. Listen to track A1 "Nina". This one is for all those who have a problem with the hysterical voice of Robert Plant. Underrated and intelligent power rock. All winners no fillers. Simply fun. Very good US pressing: Vinyl Futures.....
