The Cannonball Adderly Quintet - Why Am I Treated So Bad!
(1967, Capitol)
some jazz while working from home this afternoon. Produced by the great David Axelrod live in studio. Story goes he invited a group of friends to the studio, gave them free booze and a warm up, then brought out the band. Joe Zawinul on fender piano.

Larry Coryell - The Lion And The Ram
(1976, Arista) STERLING in the deadwax
Julie Coryell with Larry in the cover photo, her prose included on the back cover.
I have my eyes peeled for a used copy of an out of print book that she wrote on the music and people of Jazz Rock fusion in the 70s:
Fosgate Signature Tube Phono Pre/Rega P9/Benz Wood/McIntosh MC 2205/JBL 4430
... on DVD if not just -A (audio only).
Well, not trying to say female-written or -played music is overrated by the (mostly) male audience here in this thread, but on DVD (non -A) there's a certain correlation i tend to notice with friends all over for a few years ...
How about setting up a record player - the 12 " format favours the same gender in many cases, but to a slightly lesser extent?
Here's one alternative from D-land without that accent. Hope '70s are acceptable

Or with THAT accent

Or with that language and fem dom all in one "difficult" package...(only rec. if you can play very loud)

Simply impressive. 180gr vinyl. Superb pressing. Warm powerful dynamics. Look at the picture of May 25, 2014. One day before his liver transpantation.......he was "Almost gone" (track A1).

Listen especially to the brilliant bass playing of Jim Hughart. He studied bass playing under Carol Kaye. And you may hear this influence! He accompanied Ella Fitzgerald, Joe Pass, Frank Sinatra and among others Tom Waits. Listen to the funky "Tony poem" on track A3. This music works like big cinema in your brain. A forgotten gem....

Recorded with the Record Plant Remote Mobile truck at the Amphitheatre, Chicago and The Gardens, Louisville by Ron Nevison in October 1978. Reissue 2008 on 180gr Vinyl of first quality. One of the most famous live recordings of rock music. Phil Mogg then was one of the most powerful shouters in hardrock business.

still kicking myself for not walking by Nellcote - Keef's estate in Villefranche-sur-Mer on the Côte d'Azur in southern France - where Exile was recorded in the basement in '72. I spent a day exploring Villefranche a couple of years ago, and we parked at a beach parking lot which it turns out was about 300 yards from the estate. It's a wonderful town next to Nice - will visit again!
