There's a big story behind this one. How happy you are if you belong to the english speaking people. Is anybody able to translate the enormous amount of lyrics on inner sheet? What does the story tell? Very good english 1987 reissue pressing. Deadwax inscription "A Porky prime cut". Recorded at The Record Plant, Sausalito. David Bromberg dobro. Listen to the efficient guitar playing by John Tichy.

Interesting version of Lennon/McCartney's "Cry baby cry" Track A1. With the muscle shoals horns. Jeff Baxter and Buzz Feiten guitars. Neil Larson piano. Nicolette Larson and Jennifer Warnes backing vocals. What else? Ah, and yes, a fine version of Helm/Robertson/Danko "Live is a carnival". Is live a carnival for you?

Does humor belong in music? Yessss! And forget Frank Zappa! Commander Cody is so much more fun. Frank Zappa is not swinging. Cody is swinging. Listen to track A 5: Please don't take me to no discos.....I'm not the only one who hates discotheques!!!

Terrific sound quality, especially the acoustic guitar strumming - Riverside is jaw-dropping. If only more records were recorded as nicely as this one.

This is a forgotten gem: the strong voice of Commander Cody Band with superb musicians. Look at his homepage www.billycfarlow.com. He is rocking in the kitchen. Listen especially to the excellently played guitar by Roger Younger. No fillers all winners. Underrated. Italian Appaloosa Records always (!!!) were outstanding in quality of pressing, vinyl and dynamics. Anybody owns "Appaloosa" Records? Show them!

Interesting for guitar fans: There were 2 performances at this day at Haleakala Center, Maui, Hawaii, July 30th 1970. The early show was a standard set of the time for Jimi taking in some more recent material and some of the older songs. As an added bonus this 2CD set includes a limited extra disc of the second performance: The late show seemed a little more laid back than the first although not less inspiring. The other interesting difference for guitar fans is that for the second performance Jimi used his Flying V Gibson guitar rather than the by now regularly used white Fender Stratocaster. Only a small portion of this part of the performance made the finished film.
So enjoy listening to Jimi's Gibson guitar sounds during the Late Show!

Ugly cover picture art by Hipgnosis. Pete Haycock at his best. British blues rock of first quality. Produced by Chris Thomas at Air Studios, London.

One of the best songwriters in USA. A poet. This one is often referred to as Earles first "rock record". Heavy metal power twang bluegrass. Track A5 "Johnny come lately" is performed with The Pogues: "So listen up close, I've got something to say Boys, i'm buying this round!" As you may hear, The Pogues agreed with pleasure. All winners no fillers. Fine german pressing. This one belongs in every vinyl fan's collection. Take it with you if you escape to the foreign island.....

Brain like a butterfly, heart like a wheel, heads in the clouds and souls in the ground...... Recorded at Can Studio Köln and Abbey Road Studios London. Listen to the beautiful version of Peter Green's song "Man of the world" on track A5. You will love this record! Absolutely an insiders' tip.

Sunday morning music with stories about America. And about our life in general. Superb german pressing. Vinyl with maximum warm life mood. Perfect dynamics. This one was issued at the time, 26 years ago, when nobody wanted to buy vinyl anymore. Too bad! They should have listened better more exactly then.......

Here come the 80's. Track A1. With the best studio cracks. Albert Lee, Hank DeVito, Tower of Power sax section, Amos Garrett......
Listen to Hank DeVito song on track B3 "Queen of hearts" and the swinging Guy Clark title B2 "Heartbroke".
