    Blondie - Plastic Letters
(1977, Chrysalis) -1B / -1A STERLING in the deadwax, mastered by Greg Calbi

I wasn't paying much attention to new music in the late 70's but Parallel Lines got my attention and I went out and bought the other Blondie records shortly after it.

Very psyched to hear about this upcoming release. May be of interest to some of you Sandy Denny fans including SpeakerLabFan:

"THE LAST WORD ON FOTHERINGAY This 3CD/1DVD set is the most comprehensive compilation yet of the English folk group's recordings, including hitherto unseen television footage, previously unreleased live recordings from a festival in Rotterdam (both from August 1970) and, for the first time, the official release of the seven existing tracks which Fotheringay recorded in session for BBC radio. The final DVD disc is the real Holy Grail for Sandy Denny fans. The four songs recorded by the group for the German TV show Beat Club effectively double the existing footage of Sandy Denny in performance. Two of these, 'Nothing More' and 'John the Gun', were never even broadcast at the time. Nothing More comes in hardcover book format complete with rare and previously unseen photographs of the band plus previously unseen original sketches for the Fotheringay cover by Marion Appleton, Trevor Lucas's sister. Release date is March 30, 2015. Fotheringay Nothing More: The Collected Fotheringay (3CD+DVD, Box set) is priced at £34.99. - spincds.com" and £37.99 at Amazon UK. Here's the link.....

    RIP Edgar Froese

"TANGERINE DREAMS' EDGAR FROESE R.I.P. 1944-2015

German artist and electronic music pioneer Edgar Froese, best known for founding the electronic music group Tangerine Dream, died on January 20 in Vienna of a plumonary embolism. He was 70. Among his works, in 1975, Froese released Epsilon In Malaysian Pale, a Mellotron-based piece inspired by a visit to the Malaysian jungle. Just before his death, Froese completed work on his 500-page autobiography, Tangerine Dream - Force Majeure - 1967 - 2014. Tangerine Dream's website posted: "The sadness in our hearts is immense. Edgar once said: 'There is no death, there is just a change of our cosmic address.' Edgar, this is a little comfort to us."

Fairport Convention - Liege & Lief
    (1969, A&M)

Produced by Joe Boyd for Witchseason productions.

Inspired to play this after seeing the Joe Boyd segments on the BBC 4 British Folk series (available on Youtube). I didn't know that Boyd wrote a book - published 2010. I picked up a copy from the local library today. Looks like a good read!

tasty Uriah Heep guitar-organ rock here.

Another band I used to dig, and for some reason sounded great on my old Apogee's. Haven't heard the Heep in quite awhile.
