I hadn't listened to this in a couple of years. instrumental rock jazz fusion, I can see the comparisons to Blow By Blow.

Chick Corea - Return To Forever
    (1972, ECM) German pressing

a 50cent flea market find this morning, I thought it was another of the US copies that I see everywhere, but was happy to see it's a German pressing. This title was the first ECM record I heard, purchased new back in the early 70s, followed by Keith Jarrett's The Koln Concert record.

Nice selection! I've always considered this to be Ronnie's masterpiece--his best collection of songs and phenomenal performances IMHO. A very unique addition to his catalog as well...... Never would have guessed in the early 70's that Edgar Winter's "guitar slinger" had this much talent as an artist himself.....

I have a couple of those - I wish they had a bit more grit and funk, those 70s CTI records have their moments though.

very nice playing. Yeah, I could see Johnny Winter involved with this but Edgar??

I actually ran across another excellent copy of this record at a flea market yesterday, could not leave it for 50 cents.

Bobby Brown - The Enlightening Beam Of Axonda
    (1972, Destiny)

a really interesting one man band outsider California psych record. I recognized the cover because I had seen it discussed before. a truly eccentric record performed without overdubs. a $1 clearance find at HPB today. :yikes:

I remembered my famous 17 different "Hey Joe's" CD from the Napster days
so was letting iTunes play whatever it wanted and it found 23 different
"I put a spell on you's" ....one was really nice (so far) ...a guy I'd never heard of ...Tab Benoit.
anyway here's a Youtube link to that version

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GeKkq1yUZ-A

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tab_Benoit

    enjoy ?

LATER: wow...great versions from Queen Latifah , Nina Simone, Nick Cave and Manfred Mann
(the Marilyn Manson one sux) ..also a nice one from Jimmy Barnes (?) and from Jill West and the Blues Attack.
MORE: good ones from: The Druids of Stonehenge, David Gilmour, The C.A, Quintet,
Brian Ferry & Roxie Music,Bonnie Tyler and Audience.

The "Bill Wyman and the Rhythm Kings" version had too much horn.

    Even later: the
Middle Eastern Natacha Atlas variation is rather fun:

    and the belly dance version:
    (even more fun)

    Go Kahina..!!

    America - self titled
(1971, Warner Bros) reissue w/ the Burbank Palm trees label

the later issue front covers have "includes A Horse With No Name" text, so it's weird to see the record in this cover had a later label when I acquired it at some point. There must have been a substitution by an earlier owner of this record and cover.
