Another from the 20 Originals series, this is a 2LP package with the band's 1969 self titled LP and 1971s Time And A Word LP. Original covers on the inner gatefold. Listening to record 1, Yes. Steve Howe on guitar and Chris Squire on bass really stand out.
Two great LP's by Yes! BTW, Peter Banks is the guitarist on these first two LP's, Steve Howe joined the band after the second LP was completed (prior to it's release--which is why he's pictured on the cover even though Peter Banks is credited in the liner notes). Banks style is similar to Howe's (or vice versa?)......

bought another today, just to make sure....

OBTW ...there were 2 copies of that GH album at the flea mkt ..same pic, but cropped differently and color balance shifted ..same fine condition, but only needed one.

listening to and blowing my mind with the first LP on a new cartridge. There's a really nice low end and separation.

    Yes - The Yes Album
    (1971, Atlantic) UK pressing

gatefold cover. A $5 grab at HPB this afternoon. It was sitting in the bins, terrific condition, priced at $7.99 all week. I held off buying until I could apply this weekend's 40% off coupon at HPB - I was happy to see that the LP stuck around until I grabbed it.

So nice. Homeward Bound was released on the album in the UK, the lead track on side 2. 12 tracks instead of 11 on the US release. Several of the songs were written by Paul Simon while he lived in London in '65.

    Herbie Hancock - Crossings

really tasty stuff with all kinds of percussive sounds, bass, moog synthesizer and Hancock leading the way into the noodling on the Fender Rhodes electric piano.
