The Doors - Weird Scenes Inside The Gold Mine
(1972, Elektra)
I'm listening record 2 with sides 2/3 which includes a couple of B-sides which hadn't seen album release.
Kinks compilation
I'm always glad to see the records that were pressed on your side of the pond because they sound so much better than a lot of old US pressings. This compilation has 44 songs and only 16 of them are "Electronically Re-Channelled For Stereo". There are lots of interesting, weird songs from Ray Davies here.

Gentle Giant - Octopus
(1972, Vertigo) UK pressing
I'm listening to a first record on my new TT. I picked up a black P5 with external PSU and the upgrade belt from my local dealer today. His last P5 and he had no cherry wood units but what a great deal for $1k. I have a Benz Wood cartridge on order for it and should have it in a week or two, in the meantime we put the Benz Ace from my P3 on it. There is a LOT more resolution with this combo, with especially tight and textured low frequencies. I'm looking forward to redisovering my record collection.

Brian Wilson - That Lucky Old Sun
(2008, Capitol)
I picked this up at HPB this week for $9. A first listen, I'm not sure if it will grow on me or wear out it's welcome especially the spoken word stuff but it's nice hearing Brian Wilson singing about LA, California and that lucky old sun on this cold winter morning.

I saw your complaint on some U.S. pressings like The Beach Boys Lp that suprise me. Don't know about that but one time I had chance to compare original 60's U.K version of Captain Beefheart's "Safe As Milk" Lp called "Drop out Boogie" with some U.S. issue, and the U.K. Lp is 15% better
I have same complaints on some Greek, Italian & ex Yugoslav issues which are criminally pressed.
Well, I think that most solid Euro pressings are German, U.K. and some Dutch issues.
Congratulations for your new TT Looks Great
Fairport Convention - Expletive Delighted!
(1986, Varrick/Rounder)
Well German, UK and Dutch pressings are the majority of the ones I've had the pleasure to have listened - I would add French to that list, all the French pressing I've heard were excellent.
Thanks! I'm having fun and hearing a lot more magic - it seems like there is unlimited amount of detail buried in the grooves.
