The Band - The Last Waltz
    (1978, Warner Bros)

Listening to record 1 with performances by The Band, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Dr. John. Neil's performance of "Helpless" is a special one, with Joni singing backing vocals. The cover has seen better days and the booklet went missing in action, but the records are in excellent shape.

as always, the cover picture is easy on the eyes. Looks like a compilation/best of ... for Radio Shack.. (Realistic label)? I haven't seen that one; it seems like the track list is full of previously released material.

Great 2 Lp comp. of legendary Morricone's soundtracks. The man with the harmonica always makes me shudder with spooky harmonica tone and piercing fuzz guitar. Deadly

    The Beatles - Rubber Soul
    (1965, Parlophone) UK 1970s issue

Such a great record. if you listen carefully you can hear the light bulb going on in Brian Wilson's head the first time he heard this record. I purchased this copy new back in the mid 70s. It kicks the US copy to the curb, although the US track list has always seemed like the real record, since that record has the track order and folk-rock flavor that I first heard and played to death in the 60s.

Caravan - Blind Dog At St. Dunstans
(1976, Arista) STERLING in the deadwax

a lighter feel with shorter songs than other Caravan titles I've heard, but it still has lots of the sophisticated progressive rock goodness. The cover depicts St. Dunstans street in Canterbury.

    Styx - self titled
    (1971, Wooden Nickel)

debut record for the Chicago band, when they had ELP and Yes aspirations, with lots of organ and guitar solos, and before the "Lady" "Come Sail Away" cheesy power ballads of the late 70s early 80s. A 50 cent clearance bin find last month.
