    Van Morrison - Moondance
    (1970, Warner Bros)

recorded about a year after recording Astral Weeks. This is my current favorite Van album, full of great songs - "and it stoned me" "crazy love" "come running" "Into the Mystic" "caravan" - full great playing and singing. I've heard "Moondance" too many times though, it's played out for me. #65 on the Rolling Stone magazine list of the 500 greatest albums.

    Deep Purple - Purple Passages
    (1972, Warner Bros)

US only 2LP comp of material previously released in '68 and '69 on the Tetragrammatron label. worn gatefold cover but the LPs is in great shape.
a recent record show pickup. ...listening to record 1 (side 1&4). from wiki:

This compilation included some alternate mixes of "The Bird Has Flown" and "Why Didn't Rosemary?", with the former having a clean intro instead of a fade-in on the album version. It also included the final Purple MK I single "Emmaretta" for the first time on LP
