Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
(1975, Columbia)
listening to an old favorite; side 1 on a pair of Infinity ES 200 speakers that were recently refoamed, they're a really nice Infinity example 3-ways w/ Polycell mids and tweeters and they even have a passive woofer. Sounds great in the 14x14 room; also listened a bit on a pair of Magnepan MG-1 improveds but they are all midrange/not rock speakers. Listening to side 2 in the main room on the JBL Model 4430 studio monitors powered with a Mcintosh MC 2205, crushing.

Gregg & Duane Allman - self titled
(1973, Springboard)
Estate sale grab this morning. another compilation of pre-ABB material recorded circa 1968 I think. I have the Bold Records 1972 release w/ a Morning Dew cover and an early Melissa, and this is very similar stuff. I like this one, lots of interesting Gregg Allman songs and a really nice cover of a Carole King (ok Goffin-King) song: No Easy Way Down. It looked nice under the dust, and cleaned up great on the VPI 16.5.
Ok! a thrift deal on AR90s should defray costs on alot of those records! I am trying to clear my basement of speaker projects but I would be tempted by those ARs.
...can we expect pictures in the speaker safari thread, and how do you transport speakers on a bike? (would like a picture of that...)

yup, they are in the SS thread...I went out to the bike and looked at my selection on bungies and then remembered that I have a truck the GW guy and I had a good workout loading them in the truck (as the OL and I did when they got home) ...various sites list them as 101 or 88 pounds ea....whatever, they are heavy....3 drivers out for refoam right now.....owners manual claims freq response of 23-30000
theres a pair in Boston asking $750 http://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/ele/1736005167.html

The Allman Brothers Band - Eat A Peach
(1972, Capricorn) #2CP 0102
an old favorite from back in the day, staring at the psychedelic drawing in the gatefold. "dedicated to a brother, Duane Allman".
AR 90s
see the picture now. Those will be well worth the effort to bring back to life.
a refrigerator -- wow. That's about what you're looking at with big Altecs or K-horns. Good to hear that you have a truck for the big ones.

Yes - Yessongs
(1973, Atlantic) PR in the deadwax
Listening to Side 1&2, Volume III, Close To The Edge. recorded during 1972 tours, 3 LP set w/ 6 page color booklet. This is an estate sale pickup yesterday morning, the records are in excellent shape. ...better shape than my much-loved copy purchased new and was my introduction to Yes. And, as with Eat A Peach, lots 'o time spent examing the album art here w/ the gatefold Roger Dean drawings.

Todd Rundgren - Faithful
(1976, Bearsville) STERLING in the deadwax
Wow, this record is a LOT of fun. I don't know why I haven't thrown this on sooner, I've had it in the pile for a couple of years. I've never really ventured far beyond Something/Anything? which I play alot - just a few plays of other Todd records. I listened to Runt on CD last night, was totally blown away by much of it (loved Patti Smith's 1971 RS review ).
now it's Faithful with amazing covers of 60s songs on side 1 and new Todd pop on side 2. great stuff. Some of his ballads resonate like few other artists for me.
