I loved that first album, but this new one is even better.
I loved that first album, but this new one is even better.
For sure .....had it going again ('bout the 3rd time thru) and the better half walked in and said "I thought you didn't like Country music" ??? .....couldnt come up with a quick , curt answer, but replied that generally I can take or leave it, but THIS album is very enjoyable..
"Haunted House" brings up some of the old Fogerty growl , really fun
I liked "Moody River" when Pat Boone did it and John does it well too
"Change in the Weather" doesnt have the extended guitar solo of the EOZ album
version but is a nice alternate take.
Oddly found myself mumbling along to "Back Home Again", tho not much of a John Denver fan...
Just looked it up: JF is abt to turn 65 ....wow we are gettin' old...
John Cameron Fogerty Born May 28, 1945
later, just found this:
Fogerty has also been nominated for a Grammy Award at the upcoming 2010 Grammys. He is nominated for the Best Rock Solo Vocal Performance Grammy for the song "Change In The Weather," which he recorded for The Blue Ridge Rangers Rides Again.
Been spinning a lot this week....Pousette-Dart was OK, but not remarkable.....actually Jean Luc Ponty was fun, kinda of Jarre Oxygen on fiddle...

OK..I'm a Beatles appreciator...had great fun with Abbey Road last week.
Have the 2009 remastered "White Album" ...was previewing it , deciding on which tracks to put to the pod...started with disk #2
Essentially there is very little of redeeming value on #2 ....#1 is a different story
(tho there are some stinkers) , but I was shocked by how bad #2 is...
