Pink Floyd, Delicate Sound Of Thunder, 1988, EMI Germany, 7 91480 1, 2LP

Listen to track D2: "Comfortably numb". Pink Floyd live in a thunderous sound. Hipgnosis' Storm Thorgerson made the cover art work. Gilmore with Tim Renwick at their best.......

Sam Jones bass, Bob Thurman piano, Louis Hayes drums. Recorded at Reeves Sound Studios, New York, February 9, 1960.
    Prod: Orrin Keepnews.
180 gr "high-definition premium virgin vinyl pressing for super fidelity" (!!!), as noted on the sticker. 2 bonus tracks recorded 1962 in Chicago: A7 "Send me your pillow" and B7 "Onions" with saxophones and second guitar.
    Raw. Stripped-down. Bare bones approach.
    Superb dynamics.

Unbelievable! This man is a phenomenon. This great creativity since so many years! He is the perfect guitar maestro of today.
Superb pressing on 180gr vinyl. Look at the stunning list of used guitar models.......
Mighty sounds. Listen loud. You don't have to download this one with the added download voucher. Did anybody do so? Results?
And i ask you: how long will this man keep this huge amount of energy? A candle burning on both sides?

The english Harvest pressing was called simply "Bullinamingvase".
Concerning track A5 "Watford Gap": Harper ran into legal problems when Watford Gap (motorway services) voiced their extreme distaste of the song, resulting in the record company's removal of the composition from the album (Cit.: David Ross Smith, AMG).
Superb guitar work by Henry McCullough (Grease Band, Wings), Andy Roberts (Plainsong, Ian Matthews), Alvin Lee (Ten Years After) and B.J. Cole.
Paul and Linda McCartney uncredited vocals.
    Sleeve design by Hipgnosis.
Good english pressing on cult label Harvest.
Why did he do this Watford Gap bashing? Greasy food?

I love this live album! I also own it on laserdisc--a shame this concert was never (officially) released on DVD or Blu-ray.

David Bowie, Same, 1969, Parlophone EU, DB 69731, RI 2015

Issued 1972 by RCA called "Space oddity". 2015 EU reissue. Good pressing/dynamics. 180gr vinyl.
Back cover by George Underwood (Shine on brightly/Fururistic dragon/All the young dudes/Hunky Dory/Rise and fall of Ziggy Stardust/and hundreds of book covers).
But as so often, these (new!!!) actual pressings have to be washed first. The pressing factories seem to use some kind of chemical substance to separate the parts after the pressing process. Anybody knows about this chemical substance?

Jeff Beck and the Big Town Playboys, Crazy Legs, 1993, Epic Holland, 473597 1

While cooking "Pot au feu" for sunday lunch: some roots belong into a "Pot au feu": potatoes, carots, sellerie!
This LP shows the roots of Jeff Beck playing his guitars to the songs of Gene Vincent and the Blue Caps. A big fun for everybody this salute to Cliff Gallup.

Big Town Playboys, Playboy Boogie, 1985, Makingwaves England, SPIN 203

This one is smokin' (as Speakerlabfan would write). Recorded live at Dublincastle, Camden Town, London, May 1985. 30 years old vinyl sounds still fresh as ever. (What about the car you used to drive in 1985?) Listen to track B3 Slim Harpo's "Shake your hips" and compare it with the Rolling Stones' version A3 on "Exile on mainstreet". Which one do you prefer?

Gene Vincent, 1956-1957 Vol 1., 1972, Capitol Pathe Marconi France, 2C064-81081

Some roots. It's 60 years since these seeds were sown. 44 years old french vinyl. Listen to Cliff Gallup's great solo guitar playing on track B3 "Double talkin' baby".
Very good french pressing. Chapeau! Aussi aux chapeaux bleus!
