I always liked that album from America. Then years later, in 1980, they came up with something that I never understood : "You could do magic".
Catchy for sure and obviously aimed at FM radios. But was that really the same group that I loved so much ? ;-)

Indeed. Same Band. Another time. Another producer. Russ Ballard produced "You could do magic". He made the hits. But the song had something magical though.
They could have done magic with George Martin.

Led Zeppelin, The Song Remains The Same, 1976, Swan Song Germany, SS 89 402

Underrated live versions on this film soundtrack. Recorded live at Madison Square Garden, NYC, 27.-29. July 1973.
Listen to "The Rain Song" A4, because it's much superior to the original studio version on LP "Houses of the holy".
And "No Quarter" is still a wonderful live version!

Cat Stevens, Back To Earth, 1978, Island Switzerland, 26 491 XOT

This one had faded away in 1978 because Punk rock was "IN". But after 40 years we know better.
Drums by Gerry Conway, Dave Mattacks and Steve Jordan.
    Produced by Paul Samwell-Smith.
Fine dynamics on this German pressing for Swiss market.
