Frankie Miller, Dancing In The Rain, 1986, Mercury Germany, 826 647-1Q

Why was this charismatic voice so much underrated?
Brian Robertson (Thin Lizzy, Motörhead), guitar
    Simon Kirke, good company drums.
Additional guitars by Chris Spedding, Tim Renwick, Hiram Bullock et al.
Hey, this is a superbly rocking and rolling LP!
Do you like Bad Company? So listen to this one.

    Look always for these 45rpm 12" E.P.'s!
They have the best powerful dynamics you may wish.

Bintangs, Night- Fighter, 1979, Ariola Holland, 200525

Holland rock was always something very special in the seventies! (Focus, Ekseption, Golden Earring, Herman Brood!!!)
So here we listen to this fresh rocking R'n'B band, founded in 1961. Some kind of a cult band.
    Anybody knows the Bintangs?

They finally had found the treasure after working so hard, playing their stuff in every discotheque of USA for so many years: an original Wurlitzer!
Anybody who owns a fancy music machine like this?

Sorry for the writing error "Corner" in the title

Turn your head for seeing the picture below. Or better shake your head. He never was a musician with big commercial success. He went his own way no matter which wind blew.....Admirable attitude. He was the father of english bluesrock and a teacher for so many later famous musicians. Colin Hodgkinson: what a superb bass player on most of these recordings. Listen to track A1: the expressive saxophone solo by Mel Collins. A very special version of "Get off my cloud" on track A5 with Steve Marriott and Peter Frampton from Humble Pie. Keith Richards has a funny vocal solo part here. Obviously a big fun for all the musicians. B1"Honky Tonk Woman" a previously unreleased accoustic version in his own style. Also B2 "Spoonful" is a very witty version from a 1975 concert in Germany. In the seventies i didn't like his style. Not enough show effects and stardom attitude. No fancy clothes. But today i have another sight to his voice and style. Listen to Dick Morrissey sax and an expressive Colin Hodgkinson bass on track B3 "Daytime Song". A lesson! On track C1 we have Eric Clapton with a typical solo on his Les Paul and Chris Farlowe voc and a superb sax frontline with Morrissey/Heckstall/Collins et al.. Listen to the bass solo of Colin in track D3. He is also a superb backing singer. In the next days i have to put the CCS Lp's onto the turntable.....

Sometimes it's a "Hard day's write": Korner, Korner, Korner,
In schooldays we had to write 100 times the correct writing......

Alexis Korner, A New Generation Of Blues, 1968, Liberty UK, LBS 83147E

Superb english pressing with fine dynamics.
    Produced by Ian Samwell.
    Cover art by Hipgnosis.
Listen to great track B5 " What's that sound i hear": You get a sense that Alexis knows well enough that he has been outgunned by the fastest guitarists in the West, name-checking Clapton, Hendrix and Peter Green (Cit.: Liner notes by Harry Shapiro)
    British music history!

Once again this one, because the musicians are very important:
Listen to the superb bass playing by Colin Hodgkinson on jazzy tracks B1/B2, recorded live at the Audimax, Hamburg, Dez.9, 1969.
Colin Hodgkinson is a wizard on bass! 2016 he still is on the road with Ric Lee and Chick Churchill as Ten Years After.
Andy Fraser (Free) bass on side A, recorded at Olympic Studios, London.
    Paul Rodgers, vocals.
Peter Thorup great guitar and vocals on most tracks.
    And a top brass section!!!
This LP didn't have any chance in these times in England, because it was too jazzy/bluesy. But the Germans said YESSSSSSSS!
