KGB, Same, 1976, MCA England, MCF 2749

Soulful bluesrock-supergroup with Carmine Appice, Rick Grech, Mike Bloomfield, Barry Goldberg, Ray Kennedy.
    Produced by Jim Price.
    Bloomfield at his best. Underrated.

Ellie Greenwich, Let it be written, let it be sung, 1973, Verve US, VR 5061

She has written all those famous songs together with Barry, Spector et al..
But she was right to let it be sung by Tina and all the girls who had more power in their voices.

Pearls Before Swine, These Things Too, 1969, Reprise USA, RS 6364

US psychedelic folkrock. Mastermind Tom Rapp, vocals/guitar. Grady Tate, jazz drummer.
This is a very quiet one: dreamy...
Difficult front cover art: a 15th century painting by Giovanni Bellini. For the German issue the picture was removed because it showed Christ's nipple exposed.

Jimi Hendrix Experience, BBC Sessions, 1998, MCA USA, 3-11742, 3LPs

75 years ago Jimi Hendrix was born in Seattle.
This one shows the remarkable live sessions on BBC Radio & TV.
30 tracks, 13 previously unreleased, booklet with rare fotos.
In my eyes and ears these 1967/69 live recordings are the best by Experience ever. Jimi is happy and in best condition.
Look at the fantastic Afro hairdo of Redding and Mitchell. What great times then......
Listen to the speach of Alexis Korner as intro of "Driving south" A7.
    Smoking colourful south .
