"Our music has many faces and many moods like the land we live in. It's a fusion of energy and serenity, a melting pot of ideas." (Cit.:Liner notes on back cover)
Agreed! This is one of the most multifaceted music pieces in Prog-Rock.

grabbed a pristine copy of this... Mort Stevens And His Orchestra – Original Hawaii Five-O TV Sound Track .
Brought back many memories , very 70's , lots of B3.
A happy find.
Genre:Funk / Soul, Stage & Screen
https://www.discogs.com/Mort-Stevens...elease/2502644
A soundtrack album featuring Morton Stevens' theme and incidental music from the pilot and the first two seasons was issued by Capitol Records in 1970. Unlike many albums of television music of the time, the music was taken directly from the scoring sessions rather than being specially re-recorded for album release.

picked this up yesterday ... Roy's first and only try at acting , kind of a Western copy of an Elvis movie w/o all the girls.
A musical western, the story is set near the end of the American Civil War, with Orbison portraying a Southern spy with a bullet-shooting guitar given the task of robbing gold bullion from the United States Mint in San Francisco in order to help finance the Confederacy's war effort.

he is a rather forgotten/ignored great ... enjoyed almost every moment of the disk.
Jack Rose cited Wray as an influence,[19] as did Iggy Pop[20] and Neil Young.[21] Jimmy Page says that Link Wray had a "real rebel attitude" and credits him in It Might Get Loud as a major influence in his early career. According to Rolling Stone, Pete Townshend of The Who once said, "If it hadn't been for Link Wray and 'Rumble,' I never would have picked up a guitar."

Cit. Quentin Tarantino: "A note about the condition of the older recordings i am using on this soundtrack - a lot of these came from my personal vinyl collection instead of having the record companies give me new digitally cleaned up versions of these recordings from the 60's and 70's. I wanted to use the vinyl i've been listening to for years - complete with all the pops and cracks.
I even kept the sound of the needle being put down on the record, basically because i wanted people's experience to be the same as mine when they hear this soundtrack for the first time."

I found it better than most reviewers , despite lack of PGreen , it has "the great slide player Jeremy Spencer and the rock-steady Danny Kirwan"
(and I generally don't care for "live" albums)

A fundamental figure in Jazz was producer Norman Granz . He was founder of 5 record labels, especially the important Verve and Pablo. He produced many of his Pablo-LPs at the Jazz Festival in Montreux, Switzerland. Impressive: Monty Alexander's version of Ma Rainey's "See see Rider". In 1973 Norman Granz named his new label "Pablo" after his friend Pablo Picasso. Was the icon of the label created by Picasso? Anybody knows? This one is very interesting: https://www.christies.com/features/P...nz-9835-3.aspx

A bizarre caleidoscope mixture of classic rock and progressive ideas with subtle charm. Loaded with British humor. Anyone for tennis: "Won't you wear this ring and say you'll be my bride, my playboy blues will then be swept aside, i'll never touch a tennis racket anymore..." or, Amazingly Agnes: "Agnes you're the nicest cow this side of Timbucktoo, why was i born to be a mule, not even a bull, Agnes i feel such a fool,..."
Everything was possible in popular music then...
