In the mid 60's my Dad called me in to listen to his new record. I looked at the titles and
thought "YUK"
BUT then he played it , I'd never heard anything so clear and direct . cover said "No microphones were used" . Direct.
Later on he gave me the album. Like a fool I loaned it to a friend , but never got it back
Yesterday I found another copy (in VG condition) . While still not my genre, it's fidelity is so high that it's just super enjoyable. Looks like each instrument had it's own piezo pickup and fed directly into the console.
The record was produced in 1964 and I've yet to heard ANYTHING on LP that sounds better , even most CD's.
this is only the second copy I've ever seen . IF you run across a good condition copy, do yourself a favor and pick it up (if only to see how good LP's can sound )

In the early seventies, everything was possible in popular music: look at the cover art. This one is in the style of early Elton John. Fine guitars, hammond organs and big orchestras. Made in England. Notice on inner foldcover:
"Special thanks to Pauline for the honey and lemon teas"....
