I like the John Barry - Bond soundtracks ...Love , Peace & Happiness is a double (most expensive that I bought @$2) ...3 sides bad, but the only cut that I wanted was pristine...the title song is a whole side ...LP&H is very much in the psychedelic vein of THCT.

Nice grabs! did you see any of the regulars there? I wish it wasn't a 3 hour drive for me, or I'd have been there.

I dig the Nancy Sinatra titles especially when Lee Hazlewood produced, played and provided songs on them. The Zepp is surely a killer grab for a buck if the LP plays well, the cover isn't as important as the program material. I don't have that Szabo record but if it's like his other early titles, it's very tasty.

well I was out of there by 6:15 and it was open till 9 , so mebbe missed them....was interesting that approx 80 percent of the buyers were Portland Hipsters of 30 or under.
(a contributing factor was that it was held on Hawthorne , which is Hipster Mecca for this area.)

I like Nancy too , picked up the "You Only Live Twice" ST at the January Eugene show and its gotten multi plays ...always thought that she & Lee on "Some Velvet Morning" was rather different and unique.

This one has a lot of good memories. The poster is long gone in this one, but I have a nice 1983 Capitol pressing on the black+color-band label (WLY) with the poster.

The Cyrkle - Red Rubber Ball
    (1966, Columbia)

I was inspired to play this one, after seeing an interesting Cliff Richard soundtrack record today - where he covers "Red Rubber Ball". The title song was co-authored by Paul Simon and was a #2 hit in 1966 for The Cyrkle. Another Simon tune, "Cloudy", included and "Turn Down Day" which was another hit for them.

Larry Coryell - The Real Great Escape
    (1973, Vanguard)

a $1 grab at a recent Seattle record show. if I wasn't a Coryell compleatist and I'd spent more than a buck, I'd be unhappy with this purchase. Coryell tries out pop tunes and tries to sing (he can't). On the other hand there are still glimpses of his scorching guitar playing.

Penguin Cafe Orchestra - Broadcasting From Home
(1984, Editions EG) STERLING in the deadwax

a $1 find on the clearance shelf at HPB today.
The original vinyl record was pressed by EMI from a damaged master and had a distinctive click on the first track. Neither Virgin or EMI would pay to restore this, and fans therefore had to wait until the CD's release to hear the undamaged track.
